A car dealership website that does not look like a classifieds board
Your buyer has already seen the car on a classifieds portal. They come to your site to check whether you are worth trusting. Veloce shows how to build that trust, and how to separate sales from rental.

A car dealer’s website has a thankless job: the buyer has already seen the car on a classifieds portal and comes to you to check whether you are worth trusting. If the site looks like another classifieds board, you have lost the very difference that would make them buy from you rather than from the next dealer.
For the concept dealership Veloce — sales and rental of luxury vehicles we built a site that speaks to both businesses at once: the person buying, and the person renting for the weekend.
Buying and renting are two different customers
This is the most common mistake in the trade: one page for both, with the same button and the same copy. In reality:
- The buyer needs the car’s history, the service book, the warranty, finance options and a price for the car they are trading in.
- The renter needs availability by date, the daily rate, the mileage included, the deposit and the minimum age.
So Veloce has two separate entrances in the navigation and two separate vehicle lists. The same car can sit in both — but with different details and a different button.
Veloce — luxury vehicles, sales and rental
Separate journeys for buying and renting, vehicle cards with the key details, filtering and an enquiry tied to the chosen car.
Open the demo →The vehicle card: six details, not twenty
The list should show only what the buyer uses to decide whether to click: model, year, mileage, fuel, gearbox, price. Everything else — interior colour, options, paint code — belongs on the vehicle’s own page.
The photograph on the card must always be taken from the same angle. A list where one car is shot from the front, the next from the back and the third in a garage reads like a private advert. A consistent angle is the cheapest thing there is that makes a dealership look serious.
Filters that work instantly
Someone buying a car filters differently from someone shopping in a store: they search by price, year, mileage and fuel type, often all at once. If the page reloads on every tick box, they will try two and leave.
So filtering at Veloce runs in the browser: the result appears in the same breath, the results counter updates, and the chosen filters stay in the page address, so a search can be passed on in a message.
The enquiry has to know what it is about
A generic “name, email, message” form is a waste. When a buyer clicks on a specific vehicle, the form should already contain:
- the model and the internal stock number,
- a choice between a viewing, a test drive and a finance quote,
- for rentals: the collection and return dates,
- the option to attach details of the car being traded in.
Behind the scenes the enquiry goes to the salesperson’s email and into a simple list of enquiries at the same time. That is where dealerships lose the most: an enquiry stuck in one inbox never gets dealt with.
Trust in the luxury segment
On an €80,000 car the buyer checks the seller before the car. What helps:
- A team with names and faces. Not “our team”, but the salesperson who will pick up the phone.
- The process written out step by step — from viewing to handover, including the transfer of ownership and the insurance.
- What the pre-sale inspection covers and what the warranty covers.
- Real customer reviews, not a collection of anonymous stars.
With used cars you are not selling a car, you are selling a safe purchase. That is the one thing a classifieds portal cannot offer in your place.
Linking to your stock
Dealerships already have their vehicles entered in their own system. Duplicating the entries on the website means a car that is sold will hang there for another three weeks. So we connect the site to the existing list — through an export (CSV/XML) or an interface, if the provider has one. A car that is sold disappears on its own.
What we recommend
If you run a dealership, a rental fleet or a used car business, three measures bring the most: consistent photographs, filters without a page reload and an enquiry tied to a specific vehicle. You can see all of it in the Veloce demo.
Write and tell us how many cars you hold in stock at a time and which system you keep them in — that alone shows whether a proper integration makes sense or simple manual entry is enough.
